Pair of cottages. Probably substantially C17 with later alterations.
Brick-nogged timber-frame, partly under-pinned in brick. Welsh slate
roof. Central brick stack and brick end stacks. Two structural bays
aligned north/south. Two storeys. West elevation has two windows, late
C19 casements with two lights to first floor. Ground floor has four similar
casements in two pairs, each with cambered head. Attached to left and right
are low single-storey symmetrical wings each with one 3-light early C20 case-
ment. Frame is visible in upper storey which has a row of square panels
and angle struts to corner posts. Entry through lean-to extension on east
side. Interior has queen struts from ties to collars which carry V-struts.
Ceiling beams have chamfers with asymmetrical pyramidical stops. (RCHM,
Vol I, p 37).
