Garter Farmhouse and

Farmhouse and barn in one range, 1695 (datestone) with later alterations.
Hammer-dressed stone; stone slate roof with one chimney, kneelers and coping. North
side of house has entrance in an integral stone porch which has a "wuzzing hole" (used
in the preparation of wool for spinning). The openings are C19. On south side are
two 3-light double chamfered stone mullion windows, lacking all mullions. The
attached barn, built of massive stones, has a blocked cart entry next to the house.
In the wall opposite, concealed by a lean-to shippon, is a blocked chamfered doorway
with datestone over, giving in raised lettering "II:1695:ID".
