4/18 The Farmhouse

GV II

House. C17 with C18 additions, extensively altered during the late C19;
further C20 alterations. Timber-framed cross-wing with part wattle-and-
daub and part C20 infill, sandstone rubble later additions, completely
rendered to south-east front; tiled roof. Main house aligned south-west/
north-east with cross-wing at south-west end, end and lateral stacks;
central entrance to south-east front, further entrance to south-west side
of cross-wing. Two storeys. South-east front: gable end of cross-wing to
left with 2-light casement window, two similar windows to main house to right,
with similar window to right of glazed C29 porch, 4-panelled door. Square-
panelled timber-framing revealed to left-hand return of cross-wing. Interior
is altered but retains some chamfered ceiling beams; the framing of the cross-
wing is largely complete.
