2 houses. 1735. Coursed sandstone, stone slate and pantile roofs. 2
storeys, 1:3 bays. Quoins at ends of main house to right, and also to left
of single bay. Main house: between second and third bays, two 6-panel
doors, that to left part-glazed and in quoined ashlar surround with
S
inscription "J J" on lintel, that to right in quoined surround. Windows
.1735
have raised ashlar surrounds, with 4-pane sashes in first and second bays
(No 39), and 16-pane sashes with crown glass in third bay (No 41). Broken
kneelers, ashlar coping, stone slate roof. Stacks at ends and between
second and third bays. Bay to left: ground-floor segmental-arched
carriageway; first-floor 16-pane sash window in raised ashlar surround; roof
of shallower pitch and of pantiles with stone slates at eaves.
