House. C16, C17 and C19. Ashlar, rubblestone and graduated stone slate
roof. 2 storeys. Main house of 6 bays with C17 wing on north side to left.
To the south side is an early to mid C19 3-bay block to the centre. North
side: 3 bays with a gabled l-bay block at right-angles to left-hand side.
Left-hand bay has a C16 4-light mullioned window with four-centred headed
lights. Central bay has a 3-light mullioned window, to right a larger 3-
light mullioned window, with a board door below set in a chamfered surround.
First floor: to left a 5-light mullion and transom window with a hoodmould.
Central and right-hand bays have 3-light mullion and transom windows. The
left-hand bay is gabled with stone coping and a finial. Finial to left-hand
gable, end stack to right-hand gable. Lower gabled block to left has a
large stack with 5 diagonally set shafts. South side: most windows are C19,
mullioned with round-headed lights. Central early-C19 block has sashes with
glazing bars in plain stone surrounds to ground floor and below flat stone
arches above, hipped roofs. Interior: changed when the house was almost
completely rebuilt in the C19.
