House. Circa 1840. Red brick with stone dressings. Red plain tiled roofs. 2
large red brick chimney stacks to front elevation, and several to rear and
returns, all of 2, 3 or 4 diagonal shafts with moulded caps. The house is
symmetrical and modelled in Jacobean style after Thrumpton Hall, Notts., circa
1608. Alterations and additions to returns and rear. 2 storeys. Main range
with forward gabled left and right wings and central porch. Coping to all
gables. Octagonal buttresses with twisted pinnacles to 2 storey porch.
1:0:1:1:1 window range of 2 or 3 light transoms with mullions and ornate lights.
Small attic window to right gable. Plank and muntin double doors in moulded
stone surround with square head, traceried spandrels and label over.
