6/87 Fletland Water Mill

G.V. II

Water mill. Early C18, extended late C18 and mid C19. Coursed
limestone rubble, ashlar quoins and dressings, concrete tiled
roof. 3 storey, irregular 5 bay front, the centre part is the
earliest phase. Off-centre planked door with ashlar lintel and
keystone having to left half a blocked segmental archway and to
right 2 fixed lights. To first floor a planked door with to
right 3 small fixed lights and boarded grain chute. To second
floor are 4 similar windows, one with ashlar lintel and keystone.
In the roof a boarded and gabled sack hoist. In the gable end
are 2 fixed lights to the ground floor and single fixed lights to
the upper floors, all having ashlar surrounds with keyblocks.
Wheel chamber and archway remain but all gear has been removed.
