Farmhouse. C17 with major late C18 alterations, and minor C19
and C20 alterations. Coursed limestone rubble, red brick with
dark headers in Flemish bond, stucco dressings, very wide and
steeply pitched concrete tiled roof with stone coped gables with
kneelers and 2 brick gable stacks. 2 storey with garret, 3 bay
front, stone plinth, 1st floor brick band and dog tooth eaves
course. Central C20 door is covered by a C20 gabled porch and
flanked by single plain sashes with rusticated stucco surrounds
and keystone lintels. To the 1st floor are 3 plain sashes. The
side front is in coursed limestone rubble with a 2nd floor brick
band and brickwork above this. In the gable is a blocked door,
now used as a window. Interior has one late C18 cupboard. The
roof space was originally used as a granary and has a lime ash
floor, a late C18 pegged deal roof with collars and ties and 2
purlins, one being trapped by the collar. In the garret are a
fixed oat bin and mill and the external door in the gable was
used for loading in the grain.
