railings

Pair of semi-detached cottages. Early/mid C19, remodelled circa 1900 by Christine
Hamlyn. Rendered and whitewashed, bands of alternating raised quoins to each side,
gabled slate roof with a clay ridge.
Plan: symmetrical pair of cottages with adjoining doorways at the centre and each
with a main front room to right and left. Double depth plan.
Exterior: 2 storeys and attic. Symmetrical front. 2 front-facing gables, 2-light
12-paned casements in reveals,those to second floor in gabled half-dormers with
cusped pierced front-facing gables. Paired door openings to centre, plank doors,
paired gabled wooden hoods with pierced cusped front-facing bargeboards. Slightly
raised forecourt with wooden uprights with finials, 3 rows of simple iron tubular
railings.
