Toll house. c.1800. Hammer-dressed watershot stone with
graduated stone slate roof. 1 x 2 bays with C20 lean-to
extension against left gable. 4-light window on each floor
with recessed flat-faced stone mullions and a C20 1-light
window inserted on the ground floor. Two 2-light windows in
the gable-end and a blind recess at attic level probably
used to display current toll rates. Small 3-light window to
rear. Gable chimney stack. Served a branch of the Oldham/
Standedge turnpike road.
