Farmhouse, dated 1638 and 1671 on rear gables, but containing earlier fabric;
enlarged and altered in C19. Brick covered with pebble-dashed render, stone
slate and slate roof (part felted), with chimneys on the ridge and at the
junctions with the wings. H-plan: 2-bay centre with 3-bay crosswing to left
(south) and early C19 wing to right (north). Two storeys. Central 2-storey
gabled porch with round-headed entrance arch, 2-light casement above, and ball
finial on the apex; large 3-light casements on both floors each side, and
similar but larger windows in the gables of the wings. Rear gables of wings
have datestones; "1671" in south wing and "1638 in north wing (both presumably

relocated). Interior: access denied, but understood to contain a full cruck
truss at the junction of the housepart and the south wing (reference:
R.C. Watson and M.E. McClintock Traditional Houses of the Fylde, 1979,
pp.65-67).
