Hagg Cottages) and Hagg Farmhouse
(formerly listed under Hagg Road)

Farmhouse with 2 cottages adjoining to the south under a continuous roof.
House C18th with C17th remains. Rubble with slate roof. T-Plan with
central entry, end stacks and stack on gable of wing. 2 storeys with attic.
To the left of the door is a 4-light chamfered window of mid C18th type
with flush mullions, with 2 similar 2-light windows, one on each side of
the door, on the 1st floor. To the right of the door on the ground floor
is a 6-pane sash with plain reveals. At the left on the 1st floor is a
one-light chamfered window of C17th type. Door has chamfered jambs and
triangular head 'IL AL 1638'. The right-hand gable is pebbledashed, with
a 2-light rebated and chamfered mullioned window on the 1st floor and
an attic window with plain reveals. The rear (west) wing has a rebated
and chamfered surround on the 1st floor of its south wall. Its north wall
has a former 4-light rebated and chamfered window with one mullion on the
ground floor, a 4-light chamfered mullioned window of C18th type lighting
the stair, and a similar window of 3 lights on the 1st floor. Inside
there is a moulded shouldered fireplace of C18th type in the left-hand
room

Hagg Cottages are probably a C19th conversion and have openings with plain
reveals. No. I (to the south) is of 2 bays with a modern window to the
left of the door. On the 1st floor there is a double sash with glazing
bars to the left and a single sash with glazing bars to the right.
No. 2 has a sashed window with glazing bars on each floor, with a door
to the left. No. 1 has a chimney on the gable.
