Bowdage chest tomb approximately 2 metres south-east of chancel of the Church of St Giles

Chest tomb. Dated 1636 in memory of Tristram Bowdage. Beerstone ashlar. Chest tomb
is rectangular in plan with plain sides and sits on a moulded plinth. The heavy
flat lid has soffit-moulded edges. The south side is inscribed with large Roman
serif capitals and records the death of Tristram Bowdage in 1636 aged 94.
