Farmhouse. Timber-framed structure of Cl7 which has been
largely rebuilt in brick in the C18 and C19 and rendered in
C20. Slate roof. T-shaped plan with a total of 4 bays and 2
storeys. Studded oak door in bay 3 with 5-pane overlight
above. 16-pane sash window to gabled crosswing. Other
windows are 2 and 3-light replacement casements. Second door
(similar to above) in right return. 3 brick chimney stacks.
Timber posts are visible at the rear which has a continuous
outshut, and a projecting brick chimney stack. Part of the
outshut may be late Cl7, it has a horizontally sliding sash
window. Interior: chamfered beams with-stops. Inglenook with
bressumer beam. Timber-framed internal crosswalls. Other
internal features include doors and staircase. Formerly the
house of the Tyldesley family.
