Northfield Cottage

Cottage. Circa mid - late C17 with C20 additions. Plastered cob walls. Thatch
roof gabled to left end, hipped to right. Plastered rubble stack at left gable-end
with brick shaft.
Plan: 2-room plan, heated room to left with contemporary outbuilding at right-hand
end and C20 outshut added at front.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 1-window front of late C19 or early C20 small-
paned 2-light casement to left on ground floor. C20 part-glazed porch to its right
adjoining brick outshut built in front of right-hand side of house. Outbuilding
extends from right end of house with slate and corrugated iron roof. Rear elevation
has original 3-light true-mitred wooden mullion window to right on the ground floor
and similar window to outbuilding.
Interior: inaccessible at time of survey but likely to contain features of
interest.
