Farmhouse, front garden walls and adjoining outbuilding. Early C19. Painted rubble
walls. Grouted scantle slate hipped roof with projecting eaves. Brick chimeys over
the side walls. Cast-iron ogee gutters.
Plan: Double depth plan with 2 rooms at the front (kitchen/living room on the right,
parlour on the left) flanking entrance hall leading to rear stair hall with 2 storey
back kitchen outshut on the right and single storey lean-to washhouse on the left
which adjoins domestic outbuilding.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Nearly symmetrical 3 window south front with central doorway.
Original doors and windows (front and rear) except for ground floor right-hand window
which has later remodelled opening and C20 4-pane horned sash. 4-panel door, 16-pane
hornless sashes.
Rear has ledged doors, 18-pane horizontally-sliding sash to back kitchen, similar 12-
pane window to chamber over and tall round-headed stair sash with intersecting
glazing bars.
Interior: Unaltered interior with most of its original features including dog-leg
stair and panelled doors. There is a C18 2-panel door which may be re-used.
Front garden walls are built of large pieces of granite moorstone and there are
monolithic jambs to a gateway adjoining the house. There is a pavement of granite
moorstone flags at the back of the house and there are cobbled yards adjoining.
