Farmhouse. c1690-1700 with later alterations and additions. Brick, in
English bond to earlier section, rendered. Pantile roof. Plan: 3-rooms,
formerly with lobby entry to right of centre, with rear stair turret flanked
by outshuts; later wing to rear left. Front: 2 storeys with attic. 3 bays.
C19 four-pane flush sash inserted in former entrance, flanked by similar
sash to right and 12-pane sash to left with thick glazing bars. Similar 12-
pane first-floor sashes, two with thick glazing bars, all with sills.
Cogged and stepped brick eaves cornice. Raised gables. Single ridge and
end stacks. Right return has C19 French window with margin lights, 12-pane
ground-floor sliding sash to outshut, 4-pane first-floor sliding sash to
outshut, 4-pane attic sliding sash. Gabled stair turret has 12-pane sliding
sash, cogged eaves cornice and moulded brick kneelers. Interior contains
good original open well closed-string staircase with wide corniced handrail,
bulb-on-vase balusters, and plain newels with profile balusters and ball
finials; 4-fielded-panel doors in architraves, panelled window seats;
moulded dado rail to ground floor left; late C19 chimney-pieces; clasped
purlin roof. Empty and in disrepair at time of resurvey.
