Station master's house and waiting room, now dwelling. 1846 by
G T Andrews for The Yorkshire and North Midland Railway Company. Pinkish-
yellow brick with ashlar dressings and Welsh slate roof. T-shaped on plan
with range to rear. 2 storeys, 3 bays with projecting single-storey,
single-bay waiting room to front between second and third bays. Plinth gabled.
Entrance to house to second bay a 4-panel, part-glazed door under flat arch
of gauged brick. Entrance to former waiting room a board door with fanlight
with radial glazing bars, in ashlar surround of pilasters, round arch,
keystone, cornice and blocking course. 12-pane sashes throughout under flat
arches of gauged brick. Continuous sill bands. Roof with wide overhanging
eaves. Rear stacks. Range to rear under pent roof.
