5/179 Group of 3 chimney stacks
at West Wheal Tolgus on west
side of Tolskithy valley
at SW 680 425
II
Group of 3 chimney stacks, now derelict. Probably mid to later C19, and
probably associated with processing of tin streamings. Uncoursed granite rubble
and some brick. Grouped within a radius of no more than 20 metres, and all of
cylindrical form and slightly tapered, the southernmost stout and short, with
remains of former brick upper stage, the one to the north of this slender, with
remains of a brick cornice, and the one to the east of these with a marked step
between its stout stone base and the remains of its brick upper stage. Together
they form a very striking group close to the new A30 trunk road.
