13/144 Roman milestone
against west wall
of Rokeby Park

GV II


Roman milestone, removed to present position in C18. Sandstone. Roughly-
shaped cylindrical pillar 2.0 metre high. Inscribed dedication to emperors
Gallus and Volusianus (A.D.251-3). Found in or before 1727 near south-west
corner of Greta Bridge fort.
