Farmhouse. Mid C17 with later C17 additions. Red English garden wall
bond brick with red sandstone ashlar dressings and slate roof. Two
storeys with attic. Entrance front on stone plinth, stone quoins to
left hand end. Stone cyma-moulded string course above second floor.
The front is of two builds, the left hand portion being earlier. It
has gables at right and left with stone kneelers, coping stones and
finials. C19 porchway to left of centre containing Cl7 door with
decoration of nailheads and large strap hinges and ring door handle,
all fenestration of C19 date. Two cambered-headed casement windows to
ground floor right. One 3-light casement window to left fitted into a
larger, partly blocked basket arched opening. First floor windows:
one 3-light casement window to left set in partly blocked
basket-arched opening as below. Two central 2-light casements and one
3-light casement at right. Attic windows to gables of 2 lights at
left and 3 lights at right. Rear: similar to front save that it is
rendered with stucco and has a C20 outshut at right and massive
chimney breast to left of centre.
Interior: Chamfered ceiling beams to dining room and sitting room
which also has a wide inglenook fireplace and small framing to the
stair well.
