House, with range of outbuildings and stables. Mid C18, altered. House is
of red and vitreous brick with red brick dressings and flint plinth. Right
side rendered and colourwashed. Old tile M roof. Flanking brick chimneys,
the right external and of older brick. 2 storeys and attic, 4-bay fenestration.
3-pane sashes, 2 to centre of first floor old, remainder altered, 2 to
ground floor left with C20 surrounds. Former central doorway blocked. C20
3-light metal attic casements to gables. C20 door in left side. Rear
has original arches over 2 first floor casements and central staircase window.
To right, curving round corner into Shogmore Lane, is a single storey
flint range with brick dressings and eaves, and old tile roof. This
has 3-light kitchen window to left, C20 board doors at entry to yard, and
blocked stable windows along lane. Queen strut trusses with curved braces
to tie beams and curved wind-braces. Interior of house has original
staircase with turned balusters and moulded handrail, heavy ceiling beam
in hall, and re-used cambered tie beam in kitchen.
