Rectory, now private house. Main block and rear wings circa 1700; south wing
extended and north block/laundry range added later C18; south block and porch
mid-C19. Coursed rubble, colour-washed on north elevation, with cut dressings;
C19 parts squared stone with raised tooled dressings. Stone slate roofs.
Irregular plan; north block and laundry range enclose small yard facing west.
East elevation 2 storeys, 1+2+1 bays. Centre is original.house: plinth; mid-
Cl9 canted bays, with varied glazing, below 12-pane sashes in raised stone
surrounds; hip-ended roof with central ridge stack. Right bay is C18 north
block: C20 French window, with 2-pane overlight, below 12-pane sash in raised
stone surround; hipped roof. Taller left bay is C19 south block with plinth,
rusticated quoins, 4- and 12-pane sashes, in raised chamfered surrounds;
hipped roof. 2-bay left return shows similar C19 detail: canted bay with
French window. Left set-back 2-bay original wing, with later C18 hip-roofed
left bay. In angle of south block and wing is extruded canted porch with
half-glazed door in panelled wood surround. Rear elevation: re-set doorway
in wall closing yard has bolection-moulded surround; gable end of laundry
range to left shows ogee arch to coal chute, said to be from old church.
Elevations to yard: north wing shows tall arched stair window with radial-
head, old plank door with 3-pane overlight, 12-pane sash with old iron bars,
and 6- and 20-pane Yorkshire sashes. Laundry range shows boarded doors, stone
stair to boarded 1st floor door and two 12-pane Yorkshire sashes.
Interior: C18 parts have doors of 6 fielded panels, panelled shutters; dogleg
stair with urn-on-vase balusters and swept moulded handrail; domed
rooflight, with radial panelled glazing. Dogleg stone servants' stair.
