Farmhouse, early C18, Red brick, in Flemish Bond, with slate roof. 2
storeys and attic, 5 bays, double depth plan. 6-panel (3 panels in
width) half glazed door in wide stone ogee moulded doorcase with
plinth blocks and keystone. The door is fronted by a cast iron porch
with openwork indented infilling to cheeks. Projecting brick plinth
and a 2-course deep brick bands above window heads. Ovolo-moulded
cross windows with horizontal glazing bars dividing lower section into
two parts. The windows have stone-sills and gauged flat arches with
carved stone key stones. Narrow blocked windows flank the front door.
Plaster cove at eaves and copings with kneelers to the double gables.
Gable end stacks. The gable windows are 2-light casements with
glazing bars and segmental arches. Two rear wings complete a "U"
shaped plan.
Interior: 6-panel and boarded doors. Chamfered beams in Kitchen.
Cased beams and modest cornices in Lounge and Dining Room. 4-panel
doors, at first floor level, have wide panels top and bottom and small
square panels, side-by-side, at the centre. Dogleg staircase, with
turned balusters, from ground floor to attic. Boarded attic doors.
