Farmhouse. Early C18. Granite rubble and cob walls with asbestos slate roof
(previously thatched) and brick gable chimneys. 2 rooms plus outshuts at back. 2
storey, 3 windows. Ground floor walls are granite rubble with cob over. Central
door with C20 glazed porch. Flanking 12-paned casement windows. 1st floor windows
are 16-paned casements 2 of which are very old. Timber lintols over openings.
Rear has wide planked door with lift off hinges, 12-paned casement to left and
stair window with marginal bars over flanked by two 4 paned sashes. Walling at
back has been raised early C20. Chimney breasts are external and massive at upper
end containing 2 flues, 1 for back kitchen with blocked bread oven. Lower back
room was dairy and is unheated. Interior has single flight stair opposite front
door and open beams with bowtell mouldings in upper room to left. C18 fielded two
panelled doors with HL hinges and post and panelled partitioning survive on first
floor. Evidence of pegged roof structure over.
