Township road marker stone. Probably mid C18. Sandstone ashlar. Arch-topped
block, about 0.5 metre high and rectangular in plan; inscribed 'Streatlam with
Stainton Township' on north and 'Barnard Castle Township' on south, using long
's' in lower case. 0.S. bench mark on narrow west side facing road. The
modern boundary here is between Marwood civil parish and Streatlam and Stainton
parish.
