4/21 The Royal Standard public house

Public house. Circa mid C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings, painted at
sides and rear. Grouted scantle slate roofs with brick chimneys over the gable ends.
Plan: Overall L-shaped plan with 2 rooms flanking a central cross passage at the
front, a lower C19 2-room plan service wing (or former pair of cottages) adjoining at
right angles to rear left, presumably a stair hall and service room in integral
outshut at rear middle and right and C20 extension beyond.
Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3 window north front with central doorway. C20
door with overlight. Original 16-pane hornless sashes to first floor ; circa late
C19 or C20 4-pane horned sashes to ground floor.
Rear wing has 2 window front, left, with original 12-pane horned sashes.
Interior: not inspected.
