SW 83 NW FEOCK HIGHER TREVILLA

4/49 Vine Cottage

House. Circa C17, remodelled C18 and early C19. Painted slatestone and cob with
render over cob. Wheat-reed thatched roof to north with brick chimneys over gable
ends. Ground scantle slate roof to south with hip to south.
Probably originally 3-room through passage plan. Upper end partly rebuilt C18 and
lower end remodelled circa early C19 but retaining rear projection possibly stair
turret.
2 storeys. 2 and 3-window east front. Earlier irregular 2-window front, left, with
C20 small paned 2-light casements. Rebuilt C18 front, right, originally symmetrical
with central doorway and wide window openings. C20 window replaces doorway and
doorway with top-glazed C20 door now in former window position (left). Small window
over doorway probably C20 insertion. Flanking circa early C19 12-pane 2-light
casements. 4-window rear is irregular with irregular eaves line. Wide window to
left (north) with 3-light casement. Projection to far right has doorway with C20
door. Mostly 2-light C20 casement with small panes.
