NY 5614/5 (East side), Shap

27/150 New Ing Farmhouse

GV II

Built as a coaching inn; converted to farmhouse by 1815. Probably mid C18;
later additions and alterations. Incised stucco. Graduated slate roof; stone
ridge. 3 storeys, 4 bays. Part-glazed door in late C19 gabled porch; window to
right and 2 to left. 4 windows to each upper floor (2nd floor smaller). All
late C20 casements, replacing sashes, in stone surrounds. Stone mid and end
chimneys. Barn adjoining south end is not of interest.
