Farmhouse, now house. Probably mid C17, remodelled circa mid C18, with C19 and C20
alterations. Rubble, front rendered and lined out. Asbestos slate roof with gable
ends and gable end stacks with brick shafts.
Plan: 3-room plan, with 1 room to left, passage and 2 rooms to right. The end room
to right is at a lower roof level, and day originally have been unheated. In the
C18, a stair was inserted in the rear of the passage, dividing to right and left.
Rear outshut.
Exterior: 2 storeys, asymmetrical 4-window range. C20 door to passage with hipped
slate hood on rough granite piers, 15-pane sash to right and left and three 16-pane
sash at first floor, also of C19. The right side is in slatestone rubble, with 4-
pane light at ground floor and small C20 light at first floor. The left side has
external stack, and is slate-hung from ground floor level. Outshut to rear of 2
storeys, with 2-light louvred window at ground floor and C20 light at first floor at
the left side. The rear of the end room to right has a single storey outshut with 3
C20 casements and glazed doors. The rear of the 2 rooms to left and the passage has
a 2-storey outshut containing a dairy to rear left. From the rear, there is an off-
centre C20 door with porch, to right a 2-light C19 casement with L hinges and a 2-
light casement with wooden ovolo-moulded frame and mullion. First floor C20
casement. To the left of the door, a 2-light C20 casement and a 2-light C19 casement
with L hinges, smaller C19 2-light casement at first floor.
Interior: not accessible at time of survey (August 1986); room to right of the
passage has framed ceiling.
