SP 80 SW GREAT AND LITTLE HAMPDEN GREAT HAMPDEN

Row of 4 cottages, probably built for estate workers. Late C18. Rendered
front, roughcast ends, brick to rear with wall-plate and corner posts,
all colourwashed. Hipped old tiled roof; 4 brick chimneys, rebuilt C20
Gothick details. 2 storeys, 4 main bays. Irregular casements with C20
diamond-leaded glazing, each ground floor light with a blind pointed
arch above. C20 board doors: 2 to centre, one between each pair of outer
bays, all 4 with more shallowly pointed blind arches above. 2 narrow
outhouse wings to rear with lean-to between.
