The 1781 Cottages
II


Former workshop, now a row of cottages. Dated 1781. Coursed rubble gritstone
with plain gables, intermediate and end stone ridge stacks and a stone slated
roof. Two storeys and attics, three bays, with 3- and 3-light casements, some
C20, all with glazing bars, beneath rough, flat arches without keyblocks.
Blocked openings to first and attic floors to south west part and to south west
gable. Three doorways with plain planked doors. Offshuts added to rear elevations,
with heavy chamfered stone surrounds to 1 and 2-light windows.
