Farmhouse with attached stable , now house. Late C17, with attached stable of C18;
additions and alterations of mid C19 and late C20. Painted granite rubble. Slate
roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. Brick gable end stacks. 2-storey stable
attached to left side.
Plan : 2-room plan, with entrance directly into room to left, with straight stair
between the 2 rooms; rooms of equal size, each heated by gable end stack. In the mid
C19, a 2-storey addition of one-room plan was made to rear, with gable ends panellel
to the main range, and entered from a rear door. Probably in later C19, a porch was
added to the addition, and the house was re-oriented the back becoming the front.
The stable attached to left has entrance to rear and loft at upper level.
2 storeys and 2 windows, central stone porch with monolith pier to right and pitched
slate roof, 4-panelled door; 4 pane sash to right and left, with slate cills and drip
moulds, two 4-pane sashes under eaves. Straight joint to stable to left, with single
light at ground floor and loading door at upper level with 2-pane light inserted;
buttress to left. Left has single storey lean-to attached to stable, including
privy. The right has external stack. To the rear, the 2-storey addition has -light
casement at ground and first floor, small gabled porch with 4-centred arched opening
and door with strap hinges. The stable to right is built around the gable end of the
house, enclosing the external stack. There is a single light at ground floor and a
very irregular flight of stone steps leading to an upper loading door with raking
roof above eaves. Ground floor right plain door and buttress. The lean-to addition
to end right is an open-fronted cartshed.
Interior Room to left at ground floor has C18 spice cupboard in end wall. Both
ground floor rooms have C19 ceiling beams. At first floor, the room to left has
plain panelling dividing the room from the stair well.
