Stable building. Probably early C19, but rear wing has datestone pierced with:
"AS/1864". Coursed stone rubble with dressed quoins and some ashlar; slate
roof. South facade of 5 bays, the central bay breaking forward under pedimented
gable. Impost band to ground floor and cornice band. Ground floor has large
round-headed entrance with paired doors to central bay, other bays have
round-headed openings, the outer ones blocked, the inner ones with entrances and
fanlights. 1st floor has ventilation slots, except central bay. Gable has
octagonal cupola on square base with panelled angle pilasters and clock face,
columns cornice and wind vane with heraldic crest (hand grasping arrow); a
bell. Small extension to left has canopy to front. Rear, has later gable wing.
Entrances with flat arches, 2 now blocked, and 1st floor loading door, now with
spiral fire escape. Wing has entrance, window and loading door with lintels;
rock-faced quoins.
