Large Georgian house. Mid C18, and early C20. Red brick walls in Flemish bond,
tall parapet with stone coping and modillion cornice, set forward at each corner
as a raised pier with an additional coping supporting a pineapple, rubbed flat
arches, 1st floor flush band of blue headers, stone cills. Double pile tile
roof, with hips to 3 dormers (with moulded eaves and casements), curved tops to
the gables. West front : symmetrical of 2 storeys and attic, 5 windows. Sashes
in reveals. Doric doorcase of ¾ plain columns on 2 stone steps, with open
pediment, arched doorway with radiating fanlight, and 6-panelled door. The
east elevation is almost identical, with a French door beneath a fanlight. The
south elevation has a central sash above a French door, walling of mathematical
tiles and a small courtyard (early C20) flanked by shallow open shelters
supported on simple Ionic columns, the outer brick walls ending in piers with
ball caps. To the north, there is a lower 2 storeyed service wins (early C20)
of vernacular style, with a gabled projecting centre to the front west)
containing a Venetian window, the whole being set back behind a wall, with a
central gateway flanked by piers.
