Pair of houses, mid-C18 with later C18 and C19 alterations. Rubble with cut
and tooled quoins and dressings. Welsh slate roof except for stone slates on
east bay; old brick left end and ridge stacks, white brick right end stack.
2 storeys, 3+4 bays and a one-storey right bay. Butler's Cottage has central
glazed door in corniced raised stone surround; 16-pane sash windows with cut
lintels. Coped left gable with moulded kneelers. Left return shows elaborate
C19 Gothic fireplace with 4-centred arch and panel tracery, re-set as doorcase.
2-bay rear wing with central renewed glazed door in alternating-block surround
and 12-pane sash windows. House to right shows renewed glazed door in chamfered
surround under C20 porch in 2nd bay, with French window on left; 12- and 16-
pane sash windows, some renewed. Single-storey bay to far right has 4-light
mullioned window with lead-latticed glazing; similar 3-light window on right
return.
