House c.1700 extended later C18. Brick with slate roof. Central block with
cross wings. 2 storeys, 5 bays, symmetrical. Central 3-bay section has
central altered flush-panelled door in moulded wood doorcase, flanked by
tripartite sash windows. Double band above; 1st floor has central single sash
flanked by tripartite sashes. All sashes with glazing bars. All openings
have flat-arched lintels, those on 1st floor with later relieving arches above.
Slightly-projecting wings have tripartite sashes (ground floor left altered to
French window)and similar band at higher level; tumbled-in gables with slit
vents to attics, plain bargeboards. Hipped roof linking gabled roofs of wings.
2 transverse stacks with bands and stepped cornices.
Left return shows massive central buttress with C19 glazed door to left and
margined sash to right, both within C20 glazed porches. 3 12-pane sashes above.
Rear elevation rendered; tall round-headed stair window with Gothick glazing,
Yorkshire sash and 2 other sashes, all with glazing bars.
Interior: moulded keyed wooden arches to stairwell. Altered stair of c.1700
with column balusters and moulded grip handrail, handrail capable of restoration.
Slightly-projecting 2- and 4-panel doors, some with 2-pane overlights; C19
marble fireplaces and panelled shutters. Cellar with brick floor and 3 tiers
of segmental-arched winebins.
