Farmhouse. C17. Timber-framed, mainly painted brick and some lath and
plaster infill, sandstone base to stack with brick shafts, tiled roof.
Central stack, lobby entry with main range of 2 bays, end bay is gabled,
slightly projecting wing to right of 2 bays. Single storey with attics in
gables. C20 3-light wooden casements, one in each gable and one below
flanking porch, later porch with C20 door and sidelights. West gable has
two casements in attic and one 3-light casement on ground floor. Rear has
later brick extension and outshut, central stack has 3 conjoined star-plan
shafts. Framing: 3 panels high from sill to wall-plate with diagonal
bracing from sill to corner posts, V-struts in gables, 2 collars with upper
square panels in left bay gable, timber weathering at lintels and tie-beam
of gables.
