House. C17, rebuilt C18, extended mid-C19. Brick and flint; old tile gabled roofs.
Rectangular plan, double depth, with 2 unequal gables and lean-to extension at rear.
2 storeys and cellar. 2 chimneys at rear. 3-bay symmetrical front, originally 5 bays.
Sash windows with glazing bars in 2nd and 4th bays, lst-and 5th-bay window openings
blocked with flint; all with segmental brick arches. Centre bay has small 2-light
window under eaves within blocked opening similar to others. Under this a 6-panelled
entrance door, now disused, with 2-pane overlight, and C19 gabled porch with carved
bargeboard and trellis side panels. Interior: late C17 panelling in sitting room, exposed
joists and panelled doors in study. Good late C17 staircase with turned balusters,
moulded handrail and closed string.
