Detached cottage. Probably early C17. Timber framed walls with brick infill.
Half hipped thatched roof, brick end stacks. One storey and attic. At right
angles to road. In this gable end, ground floor has 2 casements with glazing
bars. Attic has one horizontally sliding sash with lead lights. Entrance at
rear. Main (south) elevation has on ground floor, one casement with glazing
bars, and one horizontally sliding sash with part glazing bars, part lead
lights. Attic has one dormer with casements with glazing bars. Internally,
main ground floor room has large fireplace, part built up. Several chamfered
ceiling beams. Roof space not inspected, but cutting away of main tie beam
for a door suggests this house may be of open hall origin. (c/f Old House).
