House, C17, two builds, with late C19 alterations. Roughly-squared stone with
cut dressings; pantile roof with old brick stacks. East elevation 2 storeys,
3 irregular bays. Vertical-panelled doors in end bays with small 4-pane case-
ment between and 12-pane Yorkshire sash on far left; 1st floor shows 6-pane
Yorkshire sash to left in opening of earlier mullioned window, and two 12-pane
sashes, the right renewed. Coped gables with moulded kneelers; left end and
ridge stacks, the former rebuilt on stone base. Left return shows 2 chamfered
attic windows, that to right formerly of 2 lights, now containing 4-pane
Yorkshire sash. Right return shows 12-pane sashes, the upper renewed, under
timber lintels, and 4-pane Yorkshire sash to attic, set in blocking of wider
window. Brick outshut to rear is not of special interest. Formerly one of
the two Seaton Lodge Cottages; the Lodge itself, Sir John Delaval's 'finest
thatched house in the kingdom', stood a short distance north and was
demolished c1965.
