Former cottage and attached byre now used as hay store and stable. Cottage
C18, byre C19. Whitewashed stone with Welsh slate roof. Single-storey cottage
on right now has 2 plank doors in centre, one small 4-pane window to left and
one ½-slatted window to right. Sundial set into wall on left of door. Upper
door to hay loft on right return. 2-storey byre to left has plank door on
right with pitching door above and one hit-and-miss window left.

Gabled roofs, the cottage much more steeply pitched. Flat coping on left gable.

Birthplace in 1753 of Thomas Bewick. A C20 plate above cottage door records
this.
