Detached house. Core probably of late C16, enlarged and refaced in
early C19. Brick on part ashlar ground floor from earlier
structure, slate roof, brick stacks, raised coped verges with
finials. Small L-shape range of 2 storeys. South-east front has
small central pediment with blind quatrefoil. Five bays, with four
16-pane sashes, and 3-bay central pediment. Ground floor windows
have nearly continuous hoodmould which cuts through central
doorcase with semi-circular soffit, plain fanlight and half-glazed
door. Windows to far right have pentagonal stops probably as part
of original fabric. Plain unfluted Doric stone porch with
entablature dismantled at time of survey and awaiting repair and
reconstruction (December 1985). Detailed external view not
accessible, nor interior which is reputed to have some moulded
beams from late C16, and C19 horseshoe staircase.
