HINTON PARVA
SU 00 SW B.3078
9/41 Nos. 38, 39, 40
II
Row of 3 cottages, mid C19. Red brick with blue diaper pattern, chamfered
plinth. Tiled roofs. Brick stacks with ceramic flues near the ends of the
ridge and to rear of ridge. Neo-Romanesque in style, matching St Kenelm's
Church (qv). Symmetrical, single storey, 4 bay. Projecting wings near ends
of range. Wings have 3-light stone windows with shafts and shafted jambs
having waterleaf capitals all under round arches. Roundels in the gables
above. Windows to central range are similar but with square heads. Each
cottage has a shouldered doorway under a round head with shafted jambs. Part
glazed doors. An unusual design still in almost in its original stage.
