House, c.1800 altered and extended c.1905 (dated rainwater head). Squared tooled
stone, part roughcast, with tooled dressings; porch ashlar; Lakeland slate roof.
South front 2 storeys, 3 bays, symmetrical. Double glazed doors in Tuscan porch
with modillion cornice; 12-pane sash above. Flanking bays have tripartite sashes.
All openings in raised stone surrounds. Eaves cornice on triple brackets;
hipped roof with 2 banded and corniced panelled stacks on ridge. 2-bay left
return shows plate-glass sashes with 12-pane sashes above; right return has
early C20 canted bay window. Set back to left, 2-bay early C20 part: gabled
left bay has tripartite plate-glass sash with 4-pane sash over, in raised stone
surrounds; right bay has French window under wooden canopy on brackets, and
4-pane sash over, in wooden archtraves.
