Former farmhouse, now two attached cottages. C17 core, refaced in
brick and dated LP M P 1719 in vitrified headers. Rendered
plinth and brick faced walls with a plat band. Thatch roof,
half hipped at left hand and gabled at right hand. Substantial brick
stack at ridge left of centre and at right hand gable. Two
storeys. Four windows, mainly 2 light C20 wood casements and one C19
cast iron casement at right upper. Cambered brick arches to
ground floor. Doors Sunnyside on left end wall, C20 brick porch
gabled and a C20 glazed door. Wayside has a C19 plank door on
north end wall and a plank porch. Interior: three rooms,
subsequently sub-divided, with bread ovens in the two northerly
rooms, see R.C.H.M. plan.
The attached C18 barn at rear of the house has been converted to a dwelling (2004-5)and is not of special interest.
SUMMARY OF IMPORTANCE: A good example of a C17 and early C18 former farmhouse that retains the great majority of its structure and plan intact.
