Churchyard wall, gatepiers and gates, c.1870. Snecked stone with cut dressings;
wrought iron. Monolith gatepiers have chamfered plinth and chamfered set-back
below cross-gabled tops with trefoil panels; double gates with SC (St.
Cuthbert) in scrolly ironwork. Wall c.l metre high, with arched coping; east
part of north wall, which shares perimeter with former police station, is
rendered unclimbable by fearsomely-spiked metal discs rotating on a rail
carried by moulded stanchions bolted to the coping.
