Garden walls with summerhouse and gatehouse, probably c.1894 by W.H. Knowles.
Squared stone with tooled ashlar dressings; summerhouse roof red clay tiles,
gatehouse roof Welsh slate with lead dome to turret; two wrought-iron gates.
West wall runs south from south-west corner of Hall ballroom, with coping
stepped down; patterned gate in chamfered surround to Rose Garden. At south-
west corner is octagonal summerhouse; stone ground floor with marked batter
to walls, 2 doorways and small leaded casement; upper part has plate glass
windows with small-paned top sections all round; pyramid roof. South wall
runs east from summerhouse, with minor steps to north and south; in west part
is gate with patterned top rail and fleur-de-lys dogbars, and in east part 3
blind recesses with chamfered surrounds. At east end is gatehouse with 3-
centred chamfered arch under 6-pane casement and shaped gable; to left is
taller octagonal turret with arched pigeon hole above stone shelf at different
height in each face, and domed cap. Both walls have moulded string below
embattled parapet.
