Detached house. Late C18, altered in late C20. Formerly
rendered rubble stone with flush quoins, stone slate roof, C20
brick end stacks. L-plan with gable end of cross wing to right, 2
storeys and attic. Formerly blind gable end to right now with
scattered C20 fenestration, Main section to left with 3 windows,
12-pane sashes. Ground floor has 2 similar to left and large C20
raking stone porch to right up to junction with gable. Right hand
return has 2 probably C19 plain paired casements with timber
lintels, to each floor and 2 gabled dormers of C20 replacing former
single hipped dormer. Large lean-to to north side and C20 garage
to west. Interior said to have large fireplace of c1800 in ground
floor room to south west with fluting and anthemion pattern on
lintel, but interior not accessible at time of survey (March 1986).
Although somewhat altered from its original form the house still
maintains most of its period features and is in a prominent
position on a sharp corner in the village.
