House, early C19. Tooled-and-margined stone, the front of ashlar quality;
Welsh slate roof. Rectangular villa with twin wings to rear. Front 2 storeys,
3 bays, symmetrical. Plinth, sill bands. Central 6-panel door under fanlight
with intersecting glazing bars, flanked by rounded pilasters carrying archivolt;
16-pane sashes with lower leaves replaced by C20 casements. Hipped roof with
pair of stepped-and-corniced ridge stacks which were in poor condition at time
of survey. 2-bay returns show similar fenestration, and 2-bay wings to rear
with C20 small-paned casements in older openings. Rear elevation: projecting
wings, with coped gables on moulded kneelers and truncated end stacks, flank
gabled stair projection with round-arched window; glazing renewed.

Historical Note: Formerly the manager's house for the Bedlington Iron Works.
